Port Cap Closed Systems are ideal for the safe delivery of solvents to laboratory equipment such as HPLC and LC/MS systems, and may also be used for closed-system waste collection. Each system includes a 4 liter polyethylene bottle, one 38 mm Port Cap, and a compliant secondary container with a footed base for added stability. Available with your choice of 2, 3, or 4 ports.

Choose optional adapters based on your preferred tubing size (tubing not included), along with an air check valve suited to your application.

Port Caps allow tubing lines of varying sizes and materials to connect to your container with an air-tight seal. They are designed for the safe delivery or collection of laboratory chemicals and solvents. A typical closed system uses one or more bottles to feed chemicals into equipment, with a separate waste container collecting spent solvent. Closed systems help prevent chemical evaporation from open containers, reducing hazards to employees and the environment.

Our Port Caps feature 1/4-28 UNF threaded ports in a PTFE insert with tapered sealing surface suitable for use under moderate vacuum or pressure. Each port has a through-hole for 1/8″ OD tubing, machined at a 15 degree angle; push tubing through the cap to supply your system. The threaded cap collar is made of polypropylene. If integrated supply tubing which remains in the bottle is required, please inquire for options. Choose from caps with or without evaporation control: caps with integrated one-way valves allow air to enter the bottle to displace solvent removed, while minimizing solvent evaporation.

Systems include plugs for any unused holes.

Venting options

Choose Air Inlet Valve WF-PR-115 for solvent feed delivery systems (allows air in to prevent implosion as fluid leaves the bottle)
Choose Air Outlet Valve WF-PR-118 for solvent collection systems (allows venting as fluid displaces air inside the bottle)
