Description
The Büchi Evaporating Flask is a large, specialized piece of glassware designed as the primary vessel for holding the sample and solvent on a Büchi rotary evaporator. This is the key distinguishing feature. Instead of a standard ground glass joint, the flask has a large, flat, precisely ground glass flange. This flange connects to the rotary evaporator’s vacuum joint or bump trap via a large clip and a specialized o-ring seal. The large diameter provides a strong, reliable, and vacuum-tight connection suitable for large flasks where a standard joint might fail. The flask is constructed with thicker glass than standard laboratory glassware. This reinforcement is critical because the flask must withstand the extreme stress of being spun rapidly while under high vacuum and often heated in a water or oil bath.
Used, in great condition.
