The Shimadzu 228-41310-92 is a high-precision PEEK Valve Rotor designed for use in injection valves and switching valves within Shimadzu HPLC and UHPLC systems. It is the core rotating component that directs the flow of the mobile phase between different ports of the valve. Made from PEEK, a high-performance thermoplastic known for its extreme chemical resistance and physical durability. Because it is made of PEEK rather than metal, it is ideal for biomolecule analysis where metal ions could interfere with the sample. One of the key features is the design to maintain a leak-tight seal even under the high back-pressures typical of modern LC systems, as well as providing a low-friction surface that extends the life of the valve, though it will eventually wear down and require replacement to prevent leaks.
