RPMI 1640 Medium (1X) Liquid, with L-glutamine, without HEPES, 500 mL. RPMI 1640 medium was developed by Moore et al., at Roswell Park Memorial Institute, (hence the acronym RPMI) for long-term cell culture. The formulation is based on the RPMI 1630 series of media utilizing a bicarbonate buffering system with alterations to the amounts of amino acids and vitamins. RPMI 1640 medium is a modification of McCoy’s 5A medium and supports growth of many cell types, especially suspension cells such as normal and neoplastic leukocytes. RPM-BBZ-5XM-000 contains 300 mg/L L-glutamine. Store at 2-8°C.
