Description
The Chemglass CG-1512-05 Evaporating Recovery Flask is a specialized piece of glassware commonly used with rotary evaporators (rotovaps) in organic chemistry to efficiently evaporate solvents and recover non-volatile compounds. The shape is optimized for maximum surface area and efficient solvent evaporation under reduced pressure. It is made from borosilicate glass for excellent thermal and chemical resistance, which is necessary for exposure to heat, solvents, and vacuum. The primary use of these flasks is on a rotovap to collect the remaining, concentrated product after the solvent has been evaporated and collected elsewhere. They are also used as the initial flask containing the crude reaction mixture placed on the evaporator.
