Description
The Chemglass is a precision Reducing Connecting Adapter designed to interface between two standard taper (ST) joint sizes. Some of the common applications for this adapter include system integration, for sensors and probes, and filtration. It possesses a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, making it safe for high-heat applications like reflux or distillation where temperature gradients across the adapter can be significant. It is virtually inert to organic solvents and acids, ensuring that the adapter does not leach impurities into your reaction mixture or degrade over time. In this configuration, the lower joint is larger than the top joint. This allows you to “reduce” a large necked flask down to a 19/22 size for use with standard laboratory kits.
