MARCOM® Industrial Training Manual. This DOT HAZMAT General Awareness training program is available in DVD and USB formats, and in English or Spanish language. It is designed for employees who handle hazardous materials and helps raise awareness about situations in which they may encounter such substances and understand their associated risks.
Created to meet the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) HAZMAT Training regulation requirements on the handling and transport of hazardous materials, this program covers the essential content required for General Awareness training. It can be used as a standalone resource or as a companion to MARCOM’s DOT HAZMAT Safety Training program.
Topics include an overview of the regulation, definitions and classifications of hazardous materials, hazard communication, identifying indicators such as labels, shipping papers and placards, where hazardous materials may be encountered, and guidance on packaging, shipping, transport (via trucks, ships, rail, etc.), storage, and security considerations.
