SOB Medium SOB Medium, also referred to as Super Optimal Broth or Hanahan’s Broth, is recommended for the cultivation of recombinant strains of E. coli. Enzymatic Digest of Casein provides nitrogenous compounds, while Yeast Extract is a source of B-complex vitamins.
